Bedtime Reading

Every few weeks I get stuck on a book, this week it is Leonardo the Terrible Monster (he couldn't scare anyone) by Mo Willems.  Mo also wrote another favorite of mine which is sill on heavy rotation, Pigeon Wants a Puppy.  The text is writen in simple colloquial speech and the illustrations are elegant & expressive, much like animation.

[Blackberry Storm Man]

Poor Leonardo is the worst monster the monster community has ever seen. He is unable to complete his monster tasks. He tries harder and harder to be the monster he should be but nothing works out for him. But I think this does a great job at allowing the reader to really hear the child as he is upset and telling everything that has gone wrong that day. Another quality picture book by Mo Willems!
