Collaboration

Christmas Eve I was up late (past 9pm that is) still working on my part of the collaboration with my husband for our 2-and-a-half-year-old's Christmas present: a homemade train table to fuel his obsessive train-habit.  Steve built the base of the train table and cut the top to size before Thanksgiving.  I had over a month to do my share; I was to paint the top as a scale map of our town.  On Christmas Eve day we had to run out to the art supply store to get Naples Yellow (and a duck for dinner), I was convinced that this is what was missing—a color I couldn't faithfully mix. I finished in time and Christmas was saved!
